Tragedy Strikes at Children’s Party in Curitiba

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a festive gathering meant to celebrate childhood joy turned deadly in Curitiba. Sandra Aparecida de Oliveira Pinto, aged 56, succumbed to her injuries on the early hours of Thursday, the 22nd of the same month. Sandra was one of the victims of a brutal shooting spree that took place during a children’s party. The attack occurred on November 2, 2025, in the Campo de Santana neighborhood, underscoring a shocking act of violence.

Details of the Attack and Immediate Aftermath

According to reports from the Polícia Militar (PM), a group of four armed individuals invaded a residence where the celebration was taking place. Security cameras captured the chaotic scene as guests, including several children, scrambled to find safety amidst the gunfire. Tragically, a two-year-old child suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Nonetheless, sources indicated that the toddler has made a remarkable recovery and is now in stable condition.

The shooting also injured two adult men. One of these was the grandfather of the injured child, and the other was reportedly the primary target of the assailants. Fortunately, both men are recuperating and are not in life-threatening conditions. Initially, the authorities treated the incident as four counts of attempted qualified homicide. However, with Sandra’s passing, the charges have been escalated to include one count of completed qualified homicide, altering the legal implications for the perpetrators if convicted.

Investigation and Connections to Previous Crimes

The ongoing investigation by the authorities suggests a possible link between this brazen attack and an earlier crime. The assailants appeared to be targeting a witness connected to a previous criminal act. Law enforcement identified two suspects, Renan De Lima Dugonski, known as “Calça,” and Willian Rafael Nonato, referred to as “Nenê.” Both individuals have eluded capture, leading the Justice System to issue warrants for their arrest.

Police reports indicate the intended victim was present at the scene. As the situation unfolded, he attempted to retrieve a firearm within the house while being pursued. The investigation further revealed that the intended victim had sold a vehicle to the perpetrators, which they allegedly used in the double homicide of Clayton Veloso and Carlos Eduardo Costa Marto on October 24.

Efforts to bring the fugitives to justice continue. A woman, whose identity remains confidential, has been apprehended in connection with the double murder. Allegedly, she provided logistical support and assisted in the escape following the incident. The Polícia Civil urges community members to contribute any information that could lead to the capture of Dugonski and Nonato. Residents are encouraged to contact law enforcement anonymously via provided hotlines, ensuring their tips remain confidential.

As the investigation unfolds, the community and authorities are left grappling with the repercussions of this violent episode, seeking justice and closure for the victims and their families.
